On May 2, API President and CEO Red Cavaney addressed the Denver Forum, one of the nation's top executive speaking forums.
Denver Forum President George Mitrovich introduced Red Cavaney against the backdrop of API's Interactive Technology Exhibit at the Oxford Hotel in downtown Denver. Mr. Cavaney presented forum members with facts and anecdotes on a range of energy issues, including gasoline prices, industry earnings, global economic trends and commodities markets, and the oil and natural gas industry in Colorado.
Mr. Cavaney closed his speech by encouraging all political parties and representatives from geographic regions to work together to solve the energy challenges ahead. He said too much depends on the future of energy for it to be determined by bumper stickers. During the Q&A session, Forum Club members asked Mr. Cavaney about API's educational advocacy program; inquired how much oil and natural gas is owned by American companies; asked about environmental and access issues; and requested details on the rate of return for oil shale developments, a promising resources in Colorado.
